I just want to share with you guys. I'm at the stage where I'm reflecting at what I have experienced in my career path so far and what I really want for myself.

I started working in 2006. Till date, it's almost 4 years (3 yrs 9 months to be exact hehe). I started working with full of enthusiasm and vigour as a fresh grad. Now, I find myself very weary of working life. I only managed to climb out of mild depression very recently. Previously, each day just flashed across me in a daze. I was just getting past each day as it comes. I think the readers can identify with what I'm saying.

I also realised that compared to amongst my peers, I'm earning the least. This thought unsettles me a little, but doesn't affect me that badly lah. It's quite ironic because I've worked overseas for 3 years, yet compared amongst my peers who work in various lines - bank, govt, sales, finance, PR, even teaching - I'm very sure they draw more than me... >.<

Now, I'm just...jaded. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I've lost appreciation of life. I'm only starting to discover what is "happiness" once again. Some may say "But this is life what". I disagree. Call me idealistic, but I don't think life should be this way - where environment and culture pull/drag you down so badly that you feel like an engineered robot. I'm not asking for a perfect life. Sure, there are obstacles, but there are great wonderful moments in life too that balances out the negative experiences, things that have the power to pull you up when you're down. I lost the ability to experience those "great wonderful moments".

I want time out. But I don't know how to do that without compromising my financial commitments.

Anyone feels the same way here?
