Hi all, I just passed my driving recently and my family is contemplating getting a car as both me and my sis can drive. so well its some sort like a family car.

But as we know, the coe price now is so high and therefore, we were thinking of getting a 2nd hand car if the new car is too expensive. however, having no experience at all, i think those 2nd hand car dealers would be quite scary, since we may easily get "chopped carrot" without knowing.

We are just looking at normal cars, like toyota altis, honda civic etc. I called KAH motors ytd and they quoted me a price of 81800 for honda civic 1.6 and with 15k downpayment, the mthly installment would be arnd 671, which my mum thought was okay. since a 2nd hand civic would alr cost like 60+ k for a 2-3 yrs old car as shown on sgcarmart.

Thus, i would really need some honest opinion here on how to proceed, as in should i get a new or a 2nd hand car. coz i m really in a dilemma here lo. supposed to do research and then bring it up to my mum and sis, who wld b paying the mthly installment of the car.
